I like the idea of using type as image somehow. There are plenty of examples of that here, and I guess while it has been done in ways before, so have most artistic styles. I hope to add my own style to it.
I’ve been thinking of colour and style, and have the idea that as my protagonist moves from angry to calm during the story, then colour and image style could reflect that as well. Dark blacks and reds to begin with, moving towards a more generous palette in later spreads. Stark images, moving to softer images….
My challenge is to take my script ideas, and come up with visual companion ideas that complement the script, rather than evoke the same concept. One example of this that I can think of is when the character realises he has been transformed, the imagery shows the dragon shape, but the text doesn’t actually say it.
